Report by Perezhiton.com,According to box office earnings posted by Disney, the movie was a HUGE hit at the theaters this weekend, taking in $57 million in their late Thursday night screenings and a total of $120.5 million through Friday.
WOW!
Those numbers far surpass the previous record holder for biggest one-day opening, which ad been Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2, that opened at $91.1 million.
This also makes Episode VII the first film to surpass $100 million in its opening day in theaters, AND this is already the largest opening ever of any movie that opened in December.
